Product Strategy Director

Signal is looking for a super smart, strategic thinker to join our Product team. Our Product Strategist will be responsible for understanding our clients, our competitors, and the market to help create products that maximize Signal’s value by enabling marketers to exceed their business objectives. You will bring knowledge of the ad- and marketing-tech landscape and a strong sense of our positioning in the marketplace. You’ll work closely across all internal teams for this role, too, as you will be in charge of refining our next generation products and building the financial or strategic case for future product investment.

As a future Signalite, you have a knack for understanding what marketers are trying to accomplish, how valuable those initiatives are to them, and how best to deliver them. You are able to take marketer needs, industry trends, competitor positions, and Signal capabilities and blend them into a powerful product roadmap that makes both Signal and our clients successful. So, what would you be doing?

  • As Product Strategist, you’ll influence Signal’s future product direction and investment decisions, while also driving go-to-market and operational efficiencies for new products.
  • You’ll input external client and market knowledge into the product organization; you’ll be responsible for understanding the market, validating customer needs, determining if and how Signal is the right technology partner to meet those needs, and how we will be successful in building new products to take to market
  • Lead the discovery and business  requirements phase for partnership driven solutions. Liaise with client services and sales teams on new product initiatives or feature requests and commercial implications ; you’ll understand our prospects and customers - know marketer’s business objectives, challenges, and their current toolsets, and anticipate future needs
  • Innovate today’s solutions to help clients achieve their marketing goals and derive greater value from the Signal platform
  • Understand the adtech/martech space deeply. Perform market/competitor research and understand what the landscape will look like in 6mo, 1yr, and beyond
  • Develop product pilot programs and assist in the delivery of products to market
  • Establish repeatable processes that can be leveraged throughout Signal to make us all more scalable and efficient.
  • Train the Client Services team on how to best use new product solutions to help clients accomplish their business goals.
  • Educate our potential customers and partners on the benefits of Signal’s products and identify new ways to unlock client value by applying Signal technology alongside their Ad Tech stack.

What do we need from you?

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strategic thinking, data driven and a healthy respect for successful execution and follow through
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to develop a business case for new opportunities
  • Financial modeling skills
  • Ability to abstract patterns - you can gather diverse feedback from many sources and formulate that into a common pattern
  • You are familiar with the ad tech and martech industries, especially: Media buying, Onboarding, DMP, DSP, SSP, ESP, CRM, and Tag management
  • Superb presentation and communication abilities. You are comfortable being in front of an audience and building consensus
  • Project management skills to carry a solution through from concept to implementation and ensure the support team is able to manage it on an ongoing basis.
  • You are a self starter who is adept at building consensus around your ideas
  • You work well with others and can lead cross-functional teams
  • Empathy. You care about marketers and the jobs they do

Bonus points for:

  • MBA - only if it comes w/out a sense of entitlement
  • Prior experience in consulting, media technology or agency superstar
  • Must be comfortable w/ tech
  • Experience with strategic pricing strategies (EVC, conjoint analysis)
